Marcus “Brazy O” Johnson—better known as Brazy O—has spent years turning his experiences, ambition, and love for music into a movement of his own. Born February 4, 1986, in Harlem, New York, and raised between Harlem and Paterson, New Jersey, Brazy O developed his identity from two worlds and two sides of his heritage: African American and Nicaraguan.
Music was around him from an early age, but Brazy O’s story was never just about making records. It was about creating a lane.
After years of moving throughout the East Coast and developing his sound, Brazy O began building his name in the underground with a style that combines street authenticity, confidence, melody, and an unmistakable Paterson edge. His 2014 record “Disrespect” helped put his name on the radar, while “Hatin On Me” became a defining record in his catalog. Years later, Brazy O proved that his story was far from finished when “Do Sumptin” surpassed one million views, bringing a new wave of attention to the artist and the movement behind him.
But the music is only one part of the equation.
In 2013, Brazy O founded GoonRich Entertainment LLC, establishing an independent platform designed to give his vision somewhere to live beyond the music. Over the years, that vision expanded into a larger creative and entrepreneurial ecosystem that includes his artists, businesses, events, and the FRESHUS brand.
Today, Brazy O operates from both sides of the table—artist and CEO.
His wife and manager, Kira Deevah, plays a major role in the operation, working alongside Brazy O across their growing business ventures while also bringing her own voice to the culture as a podcast host. Together, they continue expanding the world surrounding GoonRich and FRESHUS.
Brazy O’s journey has also taken him beyond the underground. He has appeared as a featured artist on Dyce Payso’s tours, performed on select dates connected to the Fetty Wap Nostalgia Tour, and shared stages and venues with artists including HarrdLuck and Oskama.
With 11 solo projects already released, along with the collaborative project BossGoonz with D Blackadon and the GoonRichGang compilation Loyalty Over Royalty, Brazy O has built a catalog that reflects years of consistency, experimentation, and evolution.
Now comes the next chapter.

Bad Love represents Brazy O stepping into a new era.
His highly anticipated 12th solo project isn’t simply another addition to the catalog. It marks another evolution of the artist behind the music—a project built around the complicated emotions, experiences, relationships, victories, losses, and realities that come with his journey.
With Bad Love, Brazy O isn’t trying to recreate what he has already done. He’s opening another door.

Before there was Brazy O, there was Y Dot.
Brazy O’s musical journey began in a family rap group called Whole Fam, alongside his two younger cousins, Darren Isaiah and Promise NYC. Each member brought a different energy to the group. Darren was the lyricist, while Promise became known for his storytelling ability and punchlines. The two would eventually form their own duo, 2Conceited. Y Dot represented the harder, street-driven side of the group, bringing a raw energy and perspective that would continue to evolve throughout his career.
His musical influences were shaped heavily by Southern hip-hop. After moving to Georgia in 1996, Y Dot gravitated toward artists such as Fiend, Pastor Troy, Three 6 Mafia, and other Southern pioneers. But when he returned to New York in 1997, another artist would have an even deeper impact on his approach to music: DMX.
Brazy O never met DMX, but he didn’t have to. The music was enough.
DMX showed him that an artist could put everything into the music—the pain, the flaws, the victories, the mistakes, the truth. That philosophy became part of Brazy O’s own creative identity: don’t hide the story; put it in the music.
In Paterson, New Jersey, he was originally known as Harlem from the Boulevard—a name that would eventually become even more personal when he gave his son the name Harlem. The name Brazy O came later, in 2007, marking another chapter in his evolution as an artist.
Today, Brazy O stands as an artist defined by pain, melody, creativity, and raw storytelling. His music doesn’t fit into one box. He can deliver street records, melodic records, emotional records, and hard-hitting anthems while maintaining the authenticity that has always been at the center of his sound.
After years of building, evolving, and navigating an industry that hasn’t always given him the recognition he believes his music deserves, Brazy O is entering a new era.
That era is called Bad Love.
